Just you? Family?
When I just go by myself for a couple days fishing I just stay in Broken Bow at the Charles Wesley. When it’s a family trip like this weekend we get a cabin. Tons of cabins with many different price range to pick from.

It's worth to spend two night in a cabin.

Thanks
Can you advise best time of year to go? Want to avoid crowds if you know what i mean. So spring break week and summer may not be a good time because the kiddos are out of school

Go on a Wednesday afternoon, get checked in and situated...fish Thursday, and Friday...Saturday,is optional...call ahead and check stocking schedule...and get a line on where the big fish holes are...from the game and fish dept...they tend to be very helpful over that way...as I recall, during tourist season, they stock every week...non season, every other week...you can get into some native (or survivors) that are healthy, just go beyond the stocking areas.

Also, if you ever get a chance to fly fish Gore Ok...GO...trophy waters upstream and downstream...and a great place to stay right on the river just outside of gore...go on a Tuesday and check out Friday morning...will almost have the river to yourself....take a heavy weight rod along, they got some monster striper below the damn...and some huge trout, as well. Great carp fishing as well...really fun on a fly rod! Oh yea, almost forgot...the eagles WILL take your catch, so stay alert!

I fished the Illinois near Gore a couple weeks ago when I was visiting my daughter and grandson in Tulsa. Caught over a dozen rainbows in half a day of fishing. Would have caught more if I knew where the best holes were and did not have to scout the river. No monsters, but decent size for stockers (which means they were huuuuuge compared to Texas stockers). Caught more fish there than my last three trips to Broken Bow.

JCG, in Gore to get to the big fish areas, you have to get around a half mile either direction from the stocking areas...up river is always your best bet for the big ones...although I always went down river and drifted the log jams...amazing action, if you got it right...

Broken Bow/LOwer Mountain Fork is stocked every 2nd or 3rd week year round now. They DO NOT give out stock dates, amount of fish, or where they stock. To avoid crowds, don't go during 2 week spring break or May thru August. Wed-Fri is best if you have the time. Prime fishing is on right now thru the start of Spring Break. The fly shop in the Park (eddie and Roberta) will dish some intel if you stop by. The more recent stockings put some bigger fish in the river and there were thousands of 6-9" browns planted late in 2017.

The cabins are all pretty nice if you have the family along. If you're alone, camp in a tent or stay at the Charles Wesley.

LMF is trout only this time of year. If you like bronzebacks or LMB, upper Mtn Fork or Broken Bow Lake can work.
