Fly fishing the buffalo

Fly fishing the buffalo - 01/22/18 10:24 PM

I have a group of buddies that take a kayak trip once a year. The last 2 years we have hit the Devils and had a blast. This April we are heading up to Arkansas to fish and float the Buffalo. I am the only fly fisherman in the group. We are all Texas boys with no knowledge or experience on this river. We are still not positive where we will put in but we will be on the river for 3 nights. I am just looking for any wisdom you guys can share on the river, the fishing, or whatever else a newbie needs to know. Thanks in advance.

Small tube jigs in brown/green coloration worked well for me. Strongly recommend you avoid the weekend if possible.

No firsthand info, but...

You probably already saw these, but there's some information on this website. Maybe just call them?

Oh, well, glad I could help!

I’m thinking about a one day float up there, so let us know what you find out/how it goes!
