First Ever Speck

First Ever Speck - 06/23/17 04:22 AM

For many years my dad and I would come to Galveston for some offshore fishing out of Galveston Party Boats. On those trips I've caught a variety of different species.

Tonight was a first though. On vacation with my own family now i decided to take up inshore fishing. Alsways seemed awesome, just hadn't got around to it. So tonight I went out to turn the lights off the outside of our rented canal house.

Decided to throw a blue/chrome (it's what was on already) rattle trap just a few times as the mullet were running for their lives. Boom, finally got my first speck. Been wanting to finally get one and did. He's a dink but man was I stoked.

Just wanted to share.

Congradulations!!

Amazing how one fish can change a person. A little bit of inshore saltwater therapy can go a long way. make me want to head south.
