Surface water temps 76 degrees, water clarity Fantastic in most places for East Galveston Bay. Marsh
point and further east the water clarity decreases. Winds have been South/Southeast at 14 to 27 mph,
for the most part with higher gusts, limiting the areas we have been able to target effectively. We have
experienced good tide movement and been able to find a good number of baitfish, and the predators
have been close by. The drains did not produce as good for us this week, however the fish feeding over
shell was able to provide some good consistent action for us, hooking up with Black Drum, Redfish, and
Trout. We fished trips this week with Live Shrimp and Artificial Lures, with both producing well. Our best
water depth this week was in the 3 to 4’ range, and the popping cork distance that performed the best
was with an 18” leader. We were able to hook up a couple of Speckled trout on topwater’s, but the ¼ oz
Jig head with paddle tails produced the most artificial bites for us, with colors that mimicked bait fish
working well.

If you are looking to get out on the water with your family and beat the crowds, now is the perfect time
to make it happen, and as always, we will design a trip around your expectations, and guarantee you will
have a great time fishing Galveston Bay.
