Another mild cold front pushed thru this week, and brought with it rain and some strong North winds, and lowered the water temperature from the 60’s back to the low 50’s. Winds North to North East 10-25 mph, with some higher gusts. Most of the water we fished was lightly stained, to heavily stained, but the fish were still active. We fished a number of areas, finding scattered fish, and some good solid trout, and reds, all on artificial lures. The Trout bite was best in and around shell beds, close to mud bottoms on wind protected shorelines. Redfish were quite active again fishing drains on an outgoing tide seemed to produce the best for us. We utilized 1/8 oz heads with Down South tails (Kickin Chicken) over the shallow shell beds and 1/4 oz heads fishing the areas around the beds.

The Winter months are a great time to catch good numbers of fish on artificial’s and enjoy the beautiful outdoors with fewer crowds, so hit me up and lets schedule getting our line stretched on East Galveston Bay.
