CC Bay south shore & S jetty report 7/6 & 7/7

Short window both mornings to fish the south CC Bay shore & south Jetty in Port Aransas.

Fished south CC Bay 7:30 am to 9:15 Wed morning. GLW was with, so wade fished a hard sand bottom stretch of shore. GLW put 8-9 trout & 3-4 skippies in the net, all undersized but up to 14"-15". She smoked my catch of 2 trout around 14" & a skippy. Brutal being smoked like that.

Fished Thursday morn 7/7 a bit before sunrise to 8:15 on south Jetty just to prove or disprove something I've been thinking has been happening. GLW was again with, lucky for her TOO doesn't hold a grudge. Silver spoon for her, topwater & Catch 2000 here.

GLW hooked two really nice fish, thinking BIG trout. Both came unbuttoned. Groan'ers for sure. On this end, one trout on topwater after a school seemed to move thru. 20"-22" 3 lb fish, very solid. Had to leave a bit later. Final tally 1 trout landed, 2 BIG hooked & come off after a bit.

Believe my thinking is right, but got to test further.
