Matagorda Pre Front Surf Fishing Report

Headed down for another short afternoon/early evening trip. With the cold front approaching, the fish activity should have been off the charts but wasn’t as hot and heavy as I expected. Still managed to put some decent fish on the sand. Fish were caught on pink Fishbites, Fishbite Tap Out Lures and whiting which were once again plentiful and easy to come by in the first gut. Once the water temp gets a bit colder, I will switch over to blue crabs for the grander sized bull reds. The warmer days next week should produce some solid fish so get out there if you have the opportunity to do so.
