End of March Flounder Report - Rockport

End of March Flounder Report - Rockport - 03/30/19 07:32 AM

The last 5 nights of flounder gigging have been good, with limits of flounder each night and a few scattered sheepshead and drum. The action has been up and down, with fast limits one night, and then having to work hard for them on the next night. Higher winds and tides late in the week made for lots of dirty water, and we had to move around a bunch to find productive areas. The fish have been holding in small groups, and it was not uncommon to find 4-5 flounder laying together in a small area. Flounder size has been steady, with most fish in the 14-17" range, and a few every night in the 17-19" range.

3/25 - Jared S. group of 2. South wind at 5-10mph, low tide levels. 10 flounder limit plus 1 sheepshead by 10pm.
