Marsh Point Slam - 11/27/17 08:34 PM

I set out this morning with high hopes of maybe fishing some open water reefs, but when I step outside to load my kayak I noticed a fairly stiff east north east wind and quickly changed my plans. Although not as stiff as I have fished in before I wanted to have a leisurely day on the water so I decided to head to Lauderdale boat ramp and fish the marsh instead. When I arrived at my first spot the tide was outgoing and the bight was slow/nonexistent. I fished down the first drainage catching only a small flounder and two dink reds. On the way back out I noticed some action along the shoreline of the next drainage so I decided to see if I could capitalize, it paid off. I landed a decent trout and a solid red along with several other dink reds.

Weather
60-71°
East wind 6-9 mph (might be wrong as other reports were saying 11-13 while on the water)
clear skies
30.18-30.21 bp (this might be why the bight was slower until the tide changed)

Water
63°
outgoing changing to incoming tide
2-3 foot visibility (also why the bight might have been slower)

Also be sure to take a look at fitzgerald rods they are running a cyber deal till tomorrow if you use the code BF20 when checking out.
