With the amount of shad in those DFW lakes, you would need a crane to pull that net back to the boat. It would weigh a ton!

That way is fine as long as it is summer time in Texas or you get all that you need with one throw. Other than that, you're going to get soaked every time you throw with all that net on you like that. Not for me!

It has a plastic ring that helps spread the net. There are some who don't like it.

This is what I use. Works great. So easy to throw. Worth the trouble to install on your net.
