Really? That may be a fruitless endeavor.

Why would anyone want to go there to fish?

I live in El Paso and was looking for a lake to go to that wasn't super far.

Learn how to cast a fly then head north to the trout streams of New Mexico.

Actually be better fishing for all the fish in the springs at the swimming hole in Balmorea State Park!

I heard fishing has been good at Red Bluff, at least until Cimerex spilled 18,000 bbls of produced water into the Delaware Aug 2 which conv
conceivablely could wipe it out.

I would try Red Bluff or Elephant Butte lake, Looks like you are around 400mi to Amistad.

I fished Balmorhea around 2009 with little luck. I heard it got really low around 2012-2013 and most of the fish died in it. There are a lot of fish in the springs but you can't fish there.

+1

You're only a couple hours from Lincoln National Forest. Easy weekend trip.
