I bit the bullet and bought a new boat today - 02/29/04 01:21 AM
After more than a year of looking at center consoles, and 4 months of negotiating prices, I finally bought a new bay boat today! The boat for me turned out to be the Polar 2310. Thanks everyone here at the TFF who answered my questions as I narrowed my search, and those who referred me the "The Hulltruth.com", you helped me choose the right boat for me and my family. I went with the Honda 225 and a Riptide TM. Lowrance x-135 on the CC and an Eagle 480 on the bow. Other family requirements were a bimini top and ski toe. I'll be working on breaking in the motor and getting familiar with her on Grapevine tomorrow - don't even care if the weather is foul. I'll post a pic as soon as I figure out how to do it here on the TFF.
I feel I must add one more comment because I have never been more delighted with a major vehicle purchasing experience in my life. Vaughn Whittle at Jerry Whittle Boats in Lewisville made my purchasing experience very pleasant. Absolutely no pressure! Very reasonable on my trade-in Fish-n-ski (I checked the retail/wholesale value of the boat) most dealers I spoke with didn't want to deal with a trade-in. He also accommodated the minor adjustments I requested at no extra charge, and there were quite a few.
I'm thinking of naming her
"Megabyte" since I work in technology but I'm concerned this name may be over used. I welcome any comments.
