2022 - More Fishing Trips - 01/01/22 02:40 PM

Happy New Year everyone. I hope for a PB for all this year.

My resolution is to use all my vacation time this year and with a plan.

Does anyone know of a resource for someone to plan 4-5 trips in the midwest based on the best times for the best lakes?

I live in Kansas but have fished Pines, Welsh, Athens and also have been to Fork multiple times, which will be a spring trip again.

I am in a great situation of having plenty of vacation time, supportive wife and multiple friends that one can always fit with my free time.

Just thinking someone in an even better position than I am goes Gunersville in May because they are well known to bite in grass edges or Fork in April to pitch beds, Kentucky lake to fish ledges in June, Never miss Lake of the Ozarks in September etc.

Obviously making those up or I wouldn’t need advice

Regardless if you have a basic thought, your own detailed month by month travel plan, or anything in between you can share, good luck to you this year, finding and catching more and bigger.

Sounds like you’re not opposed to traveling a bit!

Two states up from you on I-29 is Watertown SD. On the southwest edge of town is Lake Pelican, a pretty good northern pike lake. On the northwest edge of town is Lake Kampeska, which is a pretty good walleye lake. And of course, no trip would be complete with out stopping at the Redlin Art Center.

Wherever you go, take your time and enjoy the scenery!

Multiple pond fish over 8 but heaviest weighed fish is 7-4.
Caught a 6-8 in The first 30 minutes at fork in April 21.
