Temperature Swings Affect on Fishing? - 09/09/21 02:21 PM
So a lake I often fish will have big temperature fluctuations this week- low 90's for the highs and mid 60's for the lows. Just wondering if anyone has an idea of how this will affect fishing, especially bass. I am hoping the cooler nights will bring them into shallower water, but maybe they will wait until a bit later in the season? I don't know if 3 or 4 cooler nights are enough to have an impact on their behavior.

Good question. I have had great luck a couple days after a cool down. But not consistently. Then again I am not a very good fisherman so take that as you will.

Are you talking water temps? assuming u mean air temps. I can tell you they, the bass, have not changed much on Rayburn.

Yes air temps, supposedly will be mid 60's in some areas tonight. That's got to cool the water a bit.

Water is still gonna be warm. Usually end of October they move back shallow and gorge.

Yeah Sunday fishing was horrible, I didn't catch a thing but in the next few weeks I think it will turn around.
