Most Species caught in one Day?

Most Species caught in one Day? - 05/12/21 03:32 PM
A few weeks back I was lucky enough to catch 6 species of fish in one day between two bodies of water. I think that's a record for me. Back in Washington I'd be lucky to catch 3 in a day unless you're fishing in saltwater. I'm curious how many others here have caught. I'm sure Chuck has probably caught 6 species just of sunfish in one day. What I caught was LMB, white bass, spotted bass, bluegill at least two kinds of sunfish plus a channel catfish.

My record has been in saltwater in one day. 8 hour offshore trip on the Dolphin Express, then hit the piers and surf afterwards.
Speckled trout
Redfish
Sheephead
Shark
Bonita
Kingfish
Cobia
Sand Trout
Whiting
Hardhead
Piggy Perch
I'm sure there were a few more.
Freshwater would have to be at Caleveras Lake:
Tilapia (in a cast net)
Corvina
Redfish
Catfish
Bass
All in one night trip fishing with live Tilapia.

Texas has an amazing diversity of fish species. If I was trying to catch multiple freshwater species in one day, I would go to Texoma or Caddo. I have caught multiple species on several occasions. I had a good diversity species day on Squaw Creek, catching the following species:
Freshwater Drum
Tilapia
Bluegill
Carp
Largemouth Bass
Green Sunfish
Channel catfish

Now that is an accomplishment. I have been thinking of trying the Pedernales park that's not the state park, but I can't find any information on how fishing is there.

Just the other day at Lake Palestine , I caught crappie ( black and white) , largemouth and spotted bass, yellow and white bass, bluegill , drum,

Thanks CarlB, was quite a day. I don't know much about the Ped outside the state park, however the fishing in the park is awesome if you know what to look for; cuts in the bed, deeper parts of pools, riffles around bars, etc. I started at the big pool at the bottom of the falls then worked my way up river as the day progressed. Caught fish all day long. I will confess to breaking some rules as I was in the water in an area of the park that is supposed to be closed off for water play. In my defense, I have successfully argued several cases involving river access and know that park regulations, though established as safety measures, don't override legal riverway access. have also had those types of multi-species days in the Frio, Nueces, Quadalupe, Medina, Sabinal and any number of creeks that feed those waterways. Good luck.
