What type of carp are thrashing the shallows at Conroe?

I have been seeing lots of carp thrashing around in the shallows in lake Conroe. I assume these are common carp spawning since the triploid grass carp are sterile and would not spawn, right? Or do the triploid carp go through the motions of spawning even if they are sterile?

This is also the time of year for the sucker spawn. If they're mostly shorter than 18inches, I'd say that's what they were.

Common carp and buffalo are rolling on many of the lakes right now.

Have they put triploids in there? The original stockings were all diploids.

As long as there are fish spawning in the shallows.
