Area lake is getting close to 10-12 percent pool capacity, Wondering if there are opinions whether this make it easier or harder to catch fish.

Falling water levels does a couple of things for both the fish and the fisherman. It makes it more difficult to find sweet spots that are still holding some cover on the sides and off the end of points for example that provides the feeding grounds for Bass. Bass always like cover if possible. In searching for it many times it becomes easier to find with your electronics and the amount of cover is narrowed down to a specific SPOT.

The research you put into finding the best irregular contours on the lake will give you the best areas that draws Bass to that area from deep water. They are not going to leave just because the water goes down. The cover on top may disappear; but the structural highway will still bring them to the area in search of food. Now instead of using the cover on top for ambush; they are using the structural hot spots along the route for ambush. The fisherman must continue to study low water imaging and any topo. maps to help fine the best structural hot spots in just a little deeper water. When I map an area I try to find every piece of structure from 25 ft. to the shallows and get those WayPoints on the depth finder; so they are accessible without having to do another search when the water goes down.

Here is an example of what an area with extreme irregular contours should look like and the hot spots from the shallows out to deep water.
