Warm weather rain suits

Warm weather rain suits - 07/26/20 02:28 AM

I wore my old Frogg Toggs in some pretty substantial rain today. To say the least, they are not waterproof. What are you guys wearing in warm weather? I have a much better rain suit but I would burn up wearing it now.

What's out there that will keep you dry but won't fry you?

You must have gotten the wrong ones.
Mine do great in the rain.
They are a kind of woven fabric on the outside.
Get ones with sealed seams like frogg toggs® All Sport Rain Suit.
Only issue I have is they are not the toughest of material and can tear on you.
Have more issues with that on the pants than the jacket.
Still think they are a very good deal.

I am big fan of Frogg Toggs. You must have some old ones.

I even wear my riding my motorbike in the Philippnes where it is tropical year round and humid and rainy.

Best priced warmed weather rain suit I have found.

It's pricey, but my Orvis ultralight rain jacket's hard to beat.

I respray my frog toggs after every couple rains and then dry them in the dryer for more sealant and put them in a bag in the boat and wait for the next rain. I've had my frog toggs for about 12 years now and there still workable..

What do you spray them with?

Mine are older but what would the "wrong" ones be? They're Frogg Toggs.

I have Columbia jacket and pants, bought separately at Bass Pro. They are light and can be comfortable in pretty hot weather. I have only been in light rain and they did good, my brother took them to the coast couple times and they kept him dry in rough water and pretty hard rain. Think they were around $100

Ya, I remember being disappointed when I got my Frogg Toggs as well. While they do help to keep the rain off of you, they are not water proof.
Columbia for me like mentioned in an earlier post above. But depending on the day, you'll have to dress down or just accept that you'll be a little hot at times. Just depends how much wind is available to blow into the vents built into the gear.

Try a ponco. works a lot better in warm weather then a rain suit.
