Lake Bardwell - 05/22/20 11:27 PM

I drive across it and wonder how it fishes, does anyone fish it regularly? What kind of fish are in it,

There are some big catfish, hybrid striped bass, sandbass, black bass, and my favorite Crappie. My personal best bass was 8.36 lbs on July 5th about 5 years ago. Biggest crappie for me is 2.12 lbs.
26” hybrid. Lots of sandies but not real big. This time of year you need to go early and leave when the wakeboard boats show up about 10:30am. Good Luck
Check some of my posts about Bardwell, there are a few.

mox22 forget about the Crappie bite on Bardwell . Some guy in a Yellow boat has traumatized them severely. So just go to Halbert on down the road coolio

Thanks ocelot, we’ve been able to find them there before, just wish I could find them more than I do lol-
All these fish went back for someone else to catch, any bigger ones we catch always do-
