Jighead weight differences

Jighead weight differences - 04/28/20 10:54 PM

I've been noticing some manufacturers 1/4 oz is different from another manufacturer. I get 1/4 that are
closer to sombody else's 3/8 and so on. Ordering online can be tricky as you may not know if they're
1/4 is heavy, light or accurate.

Anybody else notice this? Am I imagining this? smile

Yep. Many of them just weigh the lead to give you the weight. The true weight is with everything on the bait including the blades. That is the way I like it.
The wires and lead that I order from CAST Industries are weighted by lead head and wire. When you add the blades and all the components it will be around 3/8.

Now I want the best so I have to live with that to build the best. CAST is the best company to design the baits of your choice.

Once I find a jig head I like, I stick with that brand. That's the only way I can compare the weights.
