Just wanted to say "hi" and introduce myself. New to this forum. Recently moved to the Houston area (from the midwest) so I'll need your advice on good fishing spots. Happy to be in Texas!
Welcome! There are some pretty good places to fish in the Houston area. Google. To find places near you and then do your research. I lived between Houston and Beaumont for most of my life. Fresh and salt water opportunities. Even some that overlap. I moved to Sam Rayburn a few years back so I don’t hit those old spots anymore. At least you can fish year around here! Lol
You may want to check out the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Elite Angler Program. Just go on the TPWD site and search on elite angler to get the rules. A 15 inch trout will get you your first freshwater Big Fish award. You need 5 big fish awards to become a Texas Elite Angler.
Hello! Welcome to the greatest state in the union. You're either lucky enough to be born in Texas or get here as fast as you can. We welcome all true patriots!
Welcome again Jessa! My family came to Texas in the early 1800’s, but I’m not quite that old! Grew up in Beaumont area just east of you now and I’m now retired near Sam Rayburn lake in Lufkin.
