The Pico Perch looking bait is a Aqua Sonic Chatterbox. I still have a few from the 70's. Caught lots of fish on them back then.

Re: Does anyone recognize these lures? - 01/10/18 02:10 PM

The one is a Pico perch with a sound chamber.I think Elroy Kreuger design and molded by Textek Plastics in San Antonio.
I still have a couple of prototypes in unpainted condition.

I bought a box of the rabble rouser and have caught some fish on them, they are made up north.

Bought a chatterbox when they first came out and I caught fish on it first time out.
Don't remember what happened to it, if I lost it or whatever, but I never saw the need to buy another.
Lure companies always try and one up the competition, and it was especially true back then.

My mom used to drive the boat for us as we trolled those very lures to boat many a bass, on Lake Winnsboro in the early 70's..
Good times, greater memories...

I was thinking bayou boogie and rabble rouser. Got a uncle that had two of every size and color of the rabble rouser line up .

A bass will hit a naked piece of wood thrown in a pond.

That's how it all got started. Bee keeper James Heddon did
just that and the light went on in his head.

It's more about size, speed, and depth than "what it is".

I have fun using old lures. And new ones. They still catch me. grin

.
My sister fishing used one of my Swimmin Minnow lures this past Wednesday
to slay the whites on Canyon. This lure is a member of the Bayou Boogie,
Pico Perch, Pico Chico, AquaSonic Chatterbox, etc. family.
Killer baits in the right circumstances. Still.

I think there a few of those in my dads tackle box. May have to try one out. I bet they work.

at our stock tank a few year back a bass of about 4-5 lbs hit my sons cork and he was able to get it all the way to the bank.

My four main bass baits, (back in the day) were Jitterbug, Hula popper, Lucky 13, and plastic worm. Caught a lot of bass on them.

My four was a chugger, grape worm, black lizard, and Jitter bug, in that order...I loved watching the explosions on the chugger and jitterbug, but the worms and lizards were the ticket when the fish were holding in deeper water or just not as aggressive.

The Aquasonic lures were designed to duplicate baitfish sounds by letting the water pass through the bait. We caught lots of fish on the Bayou Boogie shaped bait. I still have a few and would probably buy again if still made.
