a tff bud gave me a holler
said maybe Lisa's for lunch ?
I said well sure ...
ran off and left my bbq chicken and taters at the house
so off we went
and in the normal manner of things
we both managed a couple of nice slabs right off the bat !

this was his idea btw ......
mine wasn't near the size a his his though

well we discussed maybe the trinity after lunch ...
he says I didn't bring a rod today
I said well I got 3 with me .....
one never knows when one must whip one out ya know
he says he has an appointment ....
so down to the river I went
good golly the wind was howlin !
and in the shade waiting for ketchn ....
fisheez !
first fish was a bluegill ...
ate that GO GO minnow right up it did

well I surely wasn't there for no brim .....
and I wasnt there for none of these as well

I took off the straight jig because I couldn't cast across the wind the wind far enough
the crappie fish typically hold in the river channel around this part of the year
so a really long cast with about 40 more yards a line arching out in the wind
and as always .....
a crappie somehow managed to git on my set up
KABOOM

now mind ya I was fine tuning the bite a bit
the brim were rather active
they even bit the tail off my GO GO minnow
so I went with a Crazy angler Crawler next
KABOOM

the bite was very difficult to detect
I felt and saw several fish hit but missed them with the wind howlin
the slack in my line was beyond imagination
but to be sure it was on !
I got bit every cast for quite some time
KABOOM

I changed out baits back and forth trying to decide what bite was better
one brim ate the crappie magic ball head spinner thing right deep
I was surprised they were feeding out in the main channel with the other larger fish
there has bin a large number of red shiners under the bridge for a while now
not sure why but I see them almost every visit these days ?

well that's just about the extent of the episode
I met several folks down there today
some brim fisherman
some bass folks
and a few cat anglers as well
then there is silly ole me
after the darn crappie
the wind sent me packin after a few assorted fish
the fish were deep on top of obstacles on the bottom
and with a tad less wind it would have been a banner outing
as always ....
GO GO gadget minnow I say .....

on a side note ....
I was informed I had a limit when I got home today
a limit of Ketchn footwear in the kitchen that is !

Looks like you threw the kitchen sink at them today....

That wind has been a BUGGER BEAR for a while now & has hampered several of my recent fishn trips, fully charged TM batteries dunkn in tha lake totally discharged batteries comin out!!!!
