Been catching a lot of these guys at PK. Lots of broken lines and more than one going to the tail. Hybrids are not supposed to be in this lake but I hear rumors that TPWD throws surplus Hybrids into PK. Love to hear the expert opinions on this.

Are you sure it's not a yellow/white cross? Some yellowish tinge in there. Yellows have broken lines AND more than one line to the tail. It has happened in other lakes, but I have no idea if PK has yellows in it.

Well based om the responses, I guess its Hybrids. How did so many Hybrid white bass get in Possum Kingdom when they are not listed as a species for PK?

I think this is a Randy Wood or TPWD question. Now if we could just get TPWD to throw some surplus smallmouth, black crappie and Blue cats in PK.

Are there any rivers or streams from hybrid stocked lakes that feed into PK?

Lake Graham but I doubt we've had enough water since 08 to move them from lake graham. These guys are under 16 inches.

Texoma folks talk about stripers and whites creating hybrids in that lake sometimes during the natural spawning cycle. Maybe PK had whites and stripers coincidentally spawning same place, same time one year creating a year class of hybrids? I bet a person could call TPWD fish stocking division to see if they put hybrids in for miscellaneous reasons and they could tell you. It seems they would show it on the stocking history page for PK if they did that and it only shows stripers as you said.

I'd like to have that number. I will call them. I caught a bunch more just like that one yesterday. They are everywhere in the area from Bluff creek to the dam mixed in schools of sand bass without the broken line or multiple stripes to the tail.
