I got to the lake and we got right on the water at 4PM on Friday. We caught a few dinks on all sorts of baits, no real pattern.

At 7:30 PM I was throwing a hollow belly swimbait. We had been working a rocky bank, and we came up to a small group of trees about 30 yards off the bank in 3 feet of water. I threw the swimbait to the trees and got bit but missed it the first time. I threw right back in and she hit it again. Got a good hook set and it was on! She swam right into a tree and I thought it was over, but after a bit she came loose and we got her in the boat. She went 8.38 on our digital scale. Took the pic and released her. She looked spawned out.

We fished there a bit more then made a move. We were fishing a steep rocky bank with lots of trees, and I switched to a 10.5" worm. At 8:40PM this one hit. She fought a lot harder than the first one. She was a little shorter, but looked to have a belly full of eggs. She went 8.13 on the scale. Took a pic and released her.

It was definitely the best hour and 10 minutes of bass fishing I've ever had.

Here's some lake info:
We had no problem unloading a 20' bass boat and we saw at least 2 pontoon boats on the lake Saturday. You do have to back in to where your front tires are in the water, but we never had a problem.

Main lake water temp was 74-78 degrees.

Jerry and the crew at Elm Creek still make an amazing burger!

If you've been thinking of going to Ivie, this is the time!

Yep, I really want to go to Ivie, but waiting for water to come up. Might need to go ahead and go. I'm hearing alot of talk lately about the weather patterns changing and the drought lifting. Let's hope it does.

Oh and nice fish! Well done!

Yep. We caught a few small ones; nothing over 2 pounds. Conditions seemed perfect-15-20 mph west wind, but bites were hard to come by.

We did hear (from more than one person) that someone caught a 13 pounder, but we never heard who.

Looks like a great afternoon thumb We are still seeing lots of quality fish in the 7-9lb range and the fish are shallow. The 13lber was a 10.56 on our scales. She was a pretty fish but not 13lbs.

The boat ramp is hanging on and I think it will be useable another 2-3 weeks with no problems.

It's in editing & production now, should be released in 2 or 3 days.
