Had another good day on Ray Roberts for the third weekend in a row. Bass fished from day light till around 11:30 and we ended up with 12 fish with the biggest around 5 with most around 4lbs. The fish have for the most part already spawned and are in a post spawn pattern. Been catching 90% of them on Lake Fork Ring Fry's in a baby bass color. White with silver, white with gold, or white with black. I always rig this set up with the hook coming out of the white side, so that when i'm swimming it the weight of the hook makes the bait move thru the water with the white side down. If you think about it, white belly is always down in Mother Nature. I did catch a few on a chatter bait with a swim bait as a trailer. Normally if the wind is blowing, you will catch more fish on a moving bait, but not today. I always rig my french fry's with a bass pro shops split shot. It's oval so it moves thru the milfoil and or moss much easier. The key is timber, flip the timber in 2' to 10'. With a light weight, you have to be patient and let it sink ever so slowly and in high winds as today it's very tough. For the most part i've been fishing Indian, Lick, Walnut, and Isle Dubois. I am a big time crappie fishermen and I am partial to cedar trees and I have been seeing some new cedars lately that are now exposed, so today I finished up the day hitting some of those cedars that I did not know were there and BAM we caught some huge crappie in 18 FOW. Ended up cleaning 10. Will post some pic's later.

My buddy Fat Dave was fishing with a white medium diving Bandit Crank-bait and was tearing up the sandies just about every where we went. This is the first time I've launched this year out of Buck Creek and was surprised at the the huge wads of milfoil up there. I got broke off early up next to a huge stump. Fish picked it up and started lethargically moving off and I swung for the fences and broke the line. I'll be thinking about that for 7 more days and nights.

I'm not a fan of the sand bass so I just kind of let him get his kicks on the opposite side of the boat while I did my thing. Kept him entertained between stumps, as i'm telling you they were locked on wood.

Should a took a picture of it but was just not interested in it, but my buddy fat Dave caught a 5 lb drum on his white crank-bait and while he was unhooking him in the boat broke his Wife's favorite fishing rod. He had to call her on the way home and tell her! She made some kind of a comment about puttin her boot up his [censored]!

Here's the crappie. The biggest was about 14.5". The eggs were just about gone, so they are starting to move out to the timber.

Well, I may have to head up there next week. Thanks for the report. Wife has been asking me to do some crappie fishing.
