Howdy all, I am planning a trip to the coast the last week of may to try to find some reds and specs. I was interested in trying out Anahuac, but don't know much about it. I was curious to know where there were good points of entry for wade fishing because it appeared to me that there weren't too many spots where I could just drive up and hop in the water just based off of the google map. Long time reader, finally got the nerve to post. Thanks for any advice.

If you go in the main entrance and just follow the shell road all the way to frozen point there are lots of spots to just drive up and hop in the water.Numerous parking areas at waters edge.

If I can get away from the Gulf I have a muley and an elk tag for colorado

There are quite a few places to pull up and get in the water. Be careful though, there are a few spots with a lot of rocks that make it tricky getting off the bank. You'll also run in to some spots with a real boggy bottom. Keep an eye out for the gators if you cut through the marsh. You really need to play the wind there. If it's blowing hard thet bay can end up like chocalate milk and make for a tough day. Make sure you go prepared it's a long way from anything.

Duly noted, thanks for the tips. I was thinking about heading down around Smith Point and giving that a shot.
