um....yes .....
wind direction means less to me than speed
but we typically look for favorable situations
and or shelter from abusive winds
its tuff to feel and or see light bites in strong wind
I almost set the hook a few times Saturday when the wind would whack my rod

My buddy says I'm wasting my time when wind is coming from the North.

I've limited out more times than I can count when the wind was blowing out of the north. The wind was blowing out of the east on Friday and I caught 45 keepers. The only things that I let affect me going fishing are lightening and wind speed.

Wind switched on us from the south to the north late yesterday and the fish went crazy. Thanks to the power poles we were able to stay right on top them.

North ???.....only the prudent Angler goes forth

I am not sure how much wind and pressure really matter during the spawn, I used to think the same way but over years of fishing I have found those sayings to be false. I catch them no matter the wind direction and pressure it seems.
I think it's more about location and finding fish more than anything.
I fished Saturday morning and we limited out in 3 hours, fished yesterday starting at 4pm and limited by 8 pm, caught about 85 fish Saturday and over 100 yesterday, should not have been biting yesterday with barometric pressure at 29.58.
You can factor wind, barometric pressure and whatever else and it did not really seem to matter IMO. The only difference for me yesterday afternoon is I took a 16 year old that had never used a 10 feet jig pole which is why it took us longer to limit, another factor could have been my buddy on one of my brushpiles that had already caught his limit when I arrived.

Fish whenever you can, most of the time the fish really do not care, when they have breeding/spawning on their mind not much gets in their way, very similar to people.

I'm thinkin it's all in the mind of the guy fishin than the fish! Pressure is another subject, my mind is still open about that but, if you can get out, just go and forget all that stuff and catch fish!

In New Mexico the wind out of the North is a really tough time fishing and dealing with it, the prevailing wind is Southwest and it turns on every day around 2pm (after the constant wind of spring). North wind usually means a bad storm is coming. I would stay home. AT Rayburn I noticed it doesn't really matter. I just find a spot I can fish protected from the wind.

Well fished today and yes it was tough,16 mph winds from the North.Caught about 15 crappie with 4 being Keepers...
Is it me or is the bite still tough.
I need a limit ...
