I take the mono off my topwater rod during the winter and fill it with fluorocarbon and use it as a backup jerkbait rod but I was wondering if I should go ahead and set it back up for topwater use. Ya'll catching any on top yet?

I couldn't do that. Jerkbait stays tied on year round. But to answer your question, yes catching them on topwater.

I hear ya. My topwater rod is turned into a backup jerkbait rod during winter. I have a designated jerkbait rod that stays that way all year.

Glad to hear the topwater bite is on. Time to break out the Yellow Magic's and Gunfish. grin

I was catching them on fork with a buzzbait three weeks ago.

And I know who "Jeff" is.

Has a lot to do with which part of Texas you live in. Water temps.

My step son caught this beauty on a frog yesterday afternoon in my neighborhood pond.

Guessing between 5 & 6 pounds. He said she hit it as soon as it hit the water. Yes, topwater bite is on!
