A friend asked me about replacement feathers/tail for the Yellow Magic. It looks like the hook has to be replaced since the feathers are attached to the hook. Anyone have a source for replacement feathers/hooks? Thanks in advance.

I would post this same question in the fly fishing section -- you might be able to hook up with someone over there who could tie a sweet custom job for ya... then you get something better than the off the shelf replacements (you could probably specify the hook brand/type/size you wanted, as well as specifying the feather coloration. I could have done that back when I had all my fly tying stuff.)

They're easy to tie. If you don't have a fly tying vise, just use a small pair of vice-grips, a thread bodkin, and a little super glue. A little piece of red marabou probably works better than feathers, but don't tell anyone.
Now Entering the Black Forest Caution: -camouflage cottonmouths -stumps are perpetually 4" under surface -unforecast windstorms -gators that act funny -game wardens off their meds Have a Nice Day

Thanks for the responses. I appreciate the fly tying suggestions. It's my buddy that needs them but I will pass along all the information. Thanks again.

My YM has one eye, no tail, and no skin on it. It still gets slammed every time i throw it. Best popper on the market.
