Myself and Mike "USMC_GY" fished two different locations on the Guadalupe River. The day before I was able to pick up 18 nice keepers. Today we picked up a few.We fished from 7am till 9am. Fish were caught using minnows with a float. Jigs were also used. Fish were holding in shallow water 4 to 6 feet deep. We then moved to another location further east. Started at 10am. First flip under a slip with a minnow. "KABOOM"! Drag was piling and my ultra light ugly stick was bent to the max. After several long runs the fish tired. At the end it tried to wrap it's self around a dock post. After about a 5 to 8 minute fight the fish gave up and was netted. The fish was a 26" Large Mouth Bass,super fat with eggs. The girth was 19". The certified weight of the fish was 12.11 Lbs. The fish is the pending record for both the weight record and catch&release record for the Guadalupe River. The fish was released. We also caught several more nice bass and Mike had two large fish that snapped his line. Needless to say we did not find any Crappie at these docks. After a GREAT day on the water we headed to El Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant in New Braunfels for some super Mexican Food. Catching some Crappie and fighting some BIG bass. It don't get any better.

Thanks for the replies. Yes Sir it was one long eight minutes for sure. I thought I was going to loose it several times. It tried super hard to wrap it's self around some dock post. Can't be that aggressive with an ultra light.
