ok so I've been trying to tie some flies with furled dubbing loop tails for bass, but as dumb as this may sound I can't get the tail to stay twisted... the videos I've seen online (the geezus lizard pattern) show how to make the tail and then he just clips it off and it magically stays twisted. Theres got to be some major step I'm missing out on here. Any help on what it is I'm missing? Thanks in advance!

Did you ever tie the fishing knot "bimini twist"?

I think the trick is to turn the line as much as possible without breaking it. And than use your finger to hold the line in the middle, gently to let the line to twist itself.

I am doing the line twist since I was a little kid. So it comes natural to me.

yeah I got it somewhat figured out, I don't think I was twisting it quite tight enough for it to stay. Now I just gotta work out how much dubbing to use for the size I want. Thanks for the help!

Bob you really need a very tight twist to create the furl that stays twisted when you tie it in
