I know the ramp is closed, but they allowing people to launch kayaks and small john boats off the bank?

Yes I was there camping with my nephews March 8-9... You might want to bring a cart but you can launch anything that you can carry or roll to the water's edge.. Not really too hard.... The ramp itself is barricaded though. Those fish were still in winter patterns that weekend. I found a few off a point on the west side midlake in about 10-15 feet then. I'm sure it's heating up though, and like some of those other west side lakes, the PBers aren't pressuring them. It's a good spring to be fishing them from a yak..

I was out there Sunday. Launched around 1:30 and fished for 4 hours. Boated 6 fish and lost 1. You can still launch at the ramp as long as you can carry you boat down. I actually saw two guys carry a flat bottom down then go back for the engine and carry it down. Lol

Look for the two eagles at the lake. Not many places in TX to see eagles..
