When I got to the lake the other day and switched from map to sidescan/downscan I got a "no source" and a blue screen. Not sure what's going on. Could it be the lss box? Switched to sonar and it worked fine.. Any ideas?

We need some more information to help diagnose.

Possible loose connection between the yellow wires.
Boat is moving to fast and transducer is out of the water.
Transducer type in settings not set correctly.

Some of the things that have happened to me playing with my unit>HDS10.

I checked the wires and they seemed tight, weird thing was it was at both the ten at the console and 8 at the bow. I wasn't moving when I tried to switch over. The ducer is on the jackplate so it is always submerged. I think it may be the lss box, maybe it needs to be replaced?

I don't have a clue when linking two units together. When mine says no source the first thing I check is the LSS box to make sure the lights are on or blinking according to the lowrance information. Good luck, let us know what you find out. I am thinking about purchasing a second unit for the bow.

If you are getting a "no source" then there are only a few possibilities, here they are:

No power to the LSS box, is the yellow wire still hooked up? Do you have it on its own switch? Loose wires?

Bad Ethernet cable? But since it's on both of your graphs that one is kinda ruled out.

Bad port on the LSS box? Again, not the problem since neither graph is working.

Fuse blown? Possible.

Bad box? Possible, what lights are flashing? Should be 2 of them.

Could be a fuse because I see no lights flashing. This would be an inline fuse? It's an lss1 box and the units are gen2 so I may get the lss2 but if it's a fuse that is not really necessary. Guess I'll spend some time under the dash this afternoon, thanks

A bad Ethernet cable could cause both units to exhibit this problem. Grout Scout is right on as always!

The lights are ridiculously hard to see, you have to almost be in a pitch black area. The fuse should be, well, it's supposed to be close to the battery but it's prob not.

Would the box have its own fuse or would other stuff be connected to it and not work also?

GunSho,

It depends how you wired your setup if you installed it. My system has a 3amp fuse for the depthfinder and a separate fuse for the LSS box. Mine came with a blade type car fuse. If possible trace them back to the power connection. If they do not have a fuse installed I would install one for each unit. This is what protects it from voltage spikes.

Yes, supposed to be seperate fuses but like mentioned above, who knows??? Is your LSS box easy to access?

Yes it's under the console, I am going to my storage building today to see what I can find. I'll let y'all know what I come up with, thanks for the advice

GunSho,

I bet your relieved. This forum is awesome and everyone is so helpful. I bought a extra box at Walmart of 3 amp fuses to keep on board the boat just in case this happens when on the water. Just a thought.
