Just some, rednecks, scape steel from the pile, and a little ingenuity.
Can use toolbox, drop tailgate, use the bed for "stuff, and used perforated sections (adjust-ability) to use between makes of trucks.
Width of center section adjusts, and height in rear adjusts.
There are Ford,Dodge and Yota guys in our bunch.

additionally:
I DID add a light to the back, btwn the two bottom yaks, a trailer light (tail-lamp/stop/license plate) with 4-way trailer connector
I stuck the license plate clear section of the light up so shine on the load, so I can check load/straps while driving at night.

Here's some ingenuity, the time we loaded up and went to Port A for Thanksgiving.

I needed a way to haul 4 kayaks or haul my two longer kayaks and pull my camper. I didn't want to permanently mount a ladder rack to my truck so I came up with this. It is held together with pins so it breaks down for easy storage. I use ratch straps to hold it in but for safety reasons I welded chains to it and they latch to the bed tie downs incase the straps break. It's not done but I got the core of it done this weekend. I'll add more photos as I finish it.

Looks good Todd. I guess you got tired of the knuckle heads getting too close to the yak??

Thanks Elliot! I've been rear ended once and that was enough but I still probably use my bed extender when just me going.

I am looking to build a rack similar to yours but still be able to use my flip up bed cover. Maybe one day I will brain storm long enough to come up with an idea.

I'm digging these homemade racks. thumb

I do this. The bed has tie down hooks from the factory. I tie the kayak down through the eyes and handles it already has. I also hang a red rag for a flag from the whichever end sticks out the bed. It works bow or stern in first.
