Wanted to test out the King Kat 13/0 circle hooks from Cabelas last night at Grapevine. Set-up two rods with my standard Gama 8/0 Octopus hooks and two with King Kat 13/0 circle hooks. The Gamakatsu hooks landed three fish(8,11,15 lbs) with no problem. The King Kats missed on three strong fish. I'd let the rod load up and reel down for a few seconds before removing from the holder and the hooks popped out after 3-5 more seconds of reeling each time. Don't plan on using these hooks again. Anyone else have experiences with their hooks? They're awful thick too.

I would have compared (apples to apples) not (apples to pineapples).

That is an awful large hook, I think toy just confirmed for not to use them.
You never know till you try though-

It's actually pretty close in size to a 8/0 Gama as far as actual dimensions and gap go, just has a bigger diameter wire I guess. Just wanted to give my anecdotal evidence and see if anyone shared similar experiences with the hook.
