Moving to Kaufman next month. Wondering if I'll be able to find a use for my Lamiglas XCC885 GH rod.

Specs are as follows.

8'8" one piece 4-12 ounce lure weight, 15-40 lb test line, mod/fast action, med/heavy power. It's a beast of a rod that I have been using for wobbler fishing for salmon.

That is an odd oz to line test ration. I've seen surf rods with that same line rating that couldn't handle 8oz of lead

I usually use a med to med heavy with fast tip. 3/8oz-1oz

You can't power cast with the full weight but you can lob it quite a ways. The line test is a bit low for the rod but Lamiglas tends to have lower ratings on a lot of their rods. I've been using 65 lb braid on it for salmon and it works just fine.

too nice of a rod for catfish.
I think it would be overkill on most fresh water fish down here in the lakes. It would be good for behind dams (if we get some water), casting large baits for Stripers. Nice Jetty Rod for reds and etc.

Sounds good. I'm sure I'll find something to use it on.

with that weight rating, it may handle Gar as well, but definitely a blue cat/flatty rod

A Rigs and those HUGE Deep diving DD22's or XD10's. Maybe even for throwing those great big swimbaits too!!
