If ya don't want to bump the stumps, the mainlake docks, near the little creeks, can hold some good pods of staging fish.
The riprap at Highsaw/Ledbetter is well known but can be a good early morning spot.

Now Entering the Black Forest
Caution:
-camouflage cottonmouths
-stumps are perpetually 4" under surface
-unforecast windstorms
-gators that act funny
-game wardens off their meds

Palestine has been great the past month. This arctic front will slow it down for about a week I'm sure. I was catching some big fish shallow on square bill's and flipping stumps with beaver type baits. If you go this week I would spend my time fishing the first drop off next to shallow water. They should be sitting in 6-8ft of water.

It is actually an old small lake. You drive through the old lake dam to get to it. It is to the west before you get to the neches. It's labeled on most maps. Easy to spot on google earth as well.

does anyone care to share the location or area of the lake ?
I can't find on the typical fishing map.

Old Folks Playground is just South and East from the Kickapoo bride. There is a small channel you can idel through to get in there from the kickapoo side.
