No A rigs yet on mine, mostly plastic fishing. I haven't really put it thru the ringer yet but I an very happy with it so far. It's the best casting reel I own.

I have had some since before they were publicly available. They have been fished hard and still look and feel new. That seems to be a trend with the Tatula is that they do not seem to lose any performance after heavy use. Matter of fact I had to work a deal for Daiwa at BPS and they have had their demo models on the reel counter for months and they had ZERO play in the handle or any loose type feelin at all. Even the BPS guys had noticed that. Imagine how many times those reels have been picked up by customers in that time. Mine have been used in some extreme weather and have held up great. I cannot put into words how easy they are to cast. In pitching and flipping when paired with the right action rod it si something special. Takes very little effort to cast and it almost becomes an extension of your hand.
I have used them on an A rig but honestly the best Daiwa for A rigs and swimbaits in that price range will be the Lexa 300 as its built with that in mind. It has a little heavier cut internals etc. to withstand the bigger baits over 1 1/2 oz etc. Do not worry about it being too big as its about the same size as an old green Curado as a reference point.

The only reason I ask about a rigs is they put some abuse on reels so I like to see how they are handling it

they can handle it but line capacity and such for an A rig will be better on the Lexa.

I agree. With 20-25# test you can empty a spool pretty quick on a standard capacity reel. The lexa would be the better option.

I still can't believe how easily it casts. . .I can throw tiny baits farther than I ever have before and big cranks will still fly a mile with it. But flipping and pitching is where it sets itself apart. I think I can put a lure in the water QUIETER with the Tatula because it's so smooth. Not to mention the accuracy and just freaking amazing feel. It feels like you have always wanted your reels to feel. Smooth, light, awesome.

For A-rigs I use the lexa 300....I tried a lot of reels before I got to the lexa....it's the best by far.

I also have several tatulas and they are awesome as well. I'm not an expert,
But to me, the Tatula performs just as well as the zillions I've owned.

Was throwing a 110 jerkbait yesterday and kept bombing it so far I thought i was gonna spool reel. Took me a bit to learn to ease up on the casting effort... rolfmao

Have been using the Tatula for several months now and have never been more impressed with a reel, the design of the Tatula is the key! Adding the T-wing design has allowed the distance and smoothness amazing. I have not used a A-rig with the Tatula as I use the Lexa 300 also because of the line capacity. I can tell you that late last spring I really tried to abuse the Tatula with braid on a frog and swim jigs and not one problem. The Tatula R series is the deal on a frog rod. Diawa really produced a winner with the Tatula!

Through God all things are possible! Thank him every day for the beauty he provides.
