It seems as if most boats are designed with only one fisherman in mind. However, accommodations have been made for a co-angler or partner. Do you think there is a need for a boat that is designed exclusively for team tournaments? If so, what accommodations should be made for the convenience of both anglers?

Thats an interesting concept. You guys in Texas are lucky enough to have a few major team trails. In much of the country, Team tourney's are for fun, and in bigger tourney, the angler is competing separately from his coangler. The typical fisherman who purchases a boat for tourney fishing will be concerned with it fitting HIS needs. His coangler will change day to day. I know when I buy a new boat, I am the only one in mind when considering what fits my needs(with the exception of a dual console for the wife's sake). If the popularity of major team trails would rise, I would thing that a boat like you are talking about would become more desirable. Until then, I dont think there would be much demand for boats like that. Just my thoughts.

One thing I like in a boat is enough storage, so I would put more practical storage for the passenger. I like what phoenix has done with the passenger rod box. Thats a great way to keep clutter down. Another modification would be to move the consoles and seats back, leaving a larger front fishing platform. No one likes being stuck in the back of the boat. Again, just my thoughts.

Some folks say that fishin on a Sunday is a sin, but if a fish bites my line, you know I'm gonna reel him on in!

I like the idea of a passenger ejection seat. Like that commercial a couple of years ago.

i think it would raise the prices even more and then come resale you are selling to an even smaller demographic.

I think the industry has met the needs of the team anglers. Passenger consoles can be added or removed. Boats have plenty of deep storage. Sonar systems can now be linked so both individuals can see the same image. Newer boats have large deck on both the front and the back. Look at the deck of the Z9 and the new legend; talk about huge.

I like the ejection seat idea, never know when that would come in handy. Perhaps an easily accessible his and her crying towel rack for those sadder moments out on the water. crying

I've back seated in a few boats and had a lot of back seaters in mine and I've never once thought "they should do xxxx just for me while I'm back here" and I've never had a complaint about room, storage, or anything else. I think the setup right now is perfectly fine.

Every boat should have a middle seat that folds down for a step to get off the back deck. I don't step on anybodys seats and the more out of shape/older I get the harder its getting to make that long step over the seat to the floor

The original 520 Ranger was as good a team boat ever built. Big front and back decks and lots of room in the back for a partner. The only way it could of been better was to rate it for a 250. The newer Z's just don't have the room in the back as the seats were moved back 11" or so.

The new Legend V20 looks more "partner friendly". Larger front deck and a larger back deck, too.
