Hearing lots of good reports trolling. How far up are they. Deep divers or rattle trap??

I took the kayak out of ramp 11 on Sunday..no whites for me, ending up catching a half limit of crappie in and around the stickups 1/2 to 1 mile downstream. I talked to a few people and not many people were catching whites upriver that far.

Went up the river Saturday - a bunch of boats were trolling at the mouth of the river when I passed headed up the river. Saw several people trolling past me upriver but didn't see anyone catch anything. We caught 3 or 4 white bass while tied up crappie fishing. We caught some nice crappie in 10-12 feet of water tied up and fishing jigs slow. We were up by Rebecca Creek at mid day and caught one white bass and one crappie. Most of our fish were caught further downstream.

I've been able to find schools of whites with electronics holding at approx 15 ft around the mouth of the river during the week. We were able to catch 22 between us using vertical jigging spoons.

Last week I caught several whites as far up as a quarter mile from The Rapids. I was slowly trolling RR (w/w and w/c). All were caught while passing gravel and sand bars. And the river runs underground bc of poor flow FYI.

You can get a ticket for driving past the barricade but you are allowed to cart, carry or drag your boat to the water.

If you are thinking to unhitch your trailer to roll it down the ramp, I think that it's probably legal (just a really big cart). However, though I don't know how big (or heavy) of a jonboat or trailer you have, Ramp 11 is a very steep ramp and you may have a runaway on your hands.

Besides, provided everything is OK launching, pulling it back up might be a real b****h. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it.

Fished Saturday 8-noon with wife.
Ended up with 8 Whites, 1 Striper, and a Crappie.
Half were keepers, Striper was 12".
Trolling from Mystic cove to the Rebecca fishing pier.
Boat ramp was packed.
