I spent some time out there this weekend for the first time in too long and it was slow! Water temp up around 54 had me thinking typical early spring, pre spawn pattern. We fished creek bends, secondary points, flats (that used to have good grass) and all in all it was a pretty slow day. We boated a few but worked hard for it. Pretty much threw the book at anything from 2 to 15 feet of water. Saw very little bait fish or activity all day. How are you Pines guys doing? Just one of those days or is the lake been that tough? I've had great days on Pines and wonder if it's still the fishery it used to be? Curious to hear some of your thoughts on the lake and of course any free advice is always appreciated too!

You just had a rough day. The story I am hearing is that the Pines is about to bust wide open. Plenty of water and plenty of bass.

Guess I'll have to get back out there.

Found a lot of male bass reall shallow sunday. North of 155. Cold water and lack of grass has definitely hurt the fishing. Think it took 25 to win ajackpot Saturday. They r still there. Wont be long

After fishing and doing pretty well on Sunday from a numbers standpoint, I felt confident that it was really getting ready to turn on, but with this current cold front, I guess they will get set back to square one again!

Everyone on every lake seems to still be struggling right now. It's been so cold for so long. We just gotta be patient. Went to a small lake last Sunday afternoon. Found water from 58-60 degrees. Not one bite. Lots of other fisherman out. All zeroed or only caught one. It just aint happening yet. Don't worry Pines will turn on in a big way this year. Grass is gone shallow from low water more than anything else in my opinion. I think our next week to week and a half of warm spell ought to get things rolling. I'm heading to Pines on spring break in a couple weeks. I expect it to be heavy pre spawn maybe a few starting to spawn if it hasn't been cold. Just wait.
