Last week I noticed that the Ascend FS12T had been pulled from Bass Pro's website and I didn't see any at the Grapevine location either. I pm'd District Paddle to confirm or squash my suspicions that BP was about to roll out a redesign. Well, my suspicions were confirmed and here it is on the website. To me it looks like a more polished version of the FS128T than a redesigned FS12T. In fact unless you really want a seat that swivels 360 deg and can be raised for hi/lo seating I see no point in spending the extra $150 for the FS128T. Similar hull, but with this new kayak being only 31" wide it's going to be a much nicer paddling kayak without sacrificing too much in the stability department. I really like this offering from Bass pro.

I will have a demo video of this new platform up soon.
I'll also update the thread when Grapevine and Garland receive their shipments.
This should be a pretty nice platform (I have seen them but I haven't paddled one yet). In fact, I sat in on a video conference months ago regarding the new kayak, so I have been biting my tongue for some time now.
The common issues/concerns with the 128T have been addressed in the new kayak. The idea here was to create a hybrid between the big FS128T and the older model FS12T. The length, weight, and width of this new yak are much more manageable, and there isn't nearly as much freeboard.
I will have one of these at the next GTG. In fact, if there is enough interest I may have a demo day in a few weeks at Grapevine so people can test drive it.

Good move on their part. I have a friend that has 2 of the FS12's (sit in), and they have good seats. It's one of the best features of that kayak, and the new FS12T looks to have the same seat. Good for them!

Been looking to buy my first yak, but i would like to get one that you can go fishing and camping. I dont think its going to be a problem to fish out of, but do you think camping can be a problem bc the yak doesn't have any dry storage

I dont think its going to be a problem to fish out of, but do you think camping can be a problem bc the yak doesn't have any dry storage It's going to depend on how much gear you bring. Most of my camping gear is designed for backpacking so it's light-weight and packs down small, so just with that center hatch I probably wouldn't have an issue with this kayak. Your mileage may very. Also, as with every SOT kayak, use dry bags to keep things dry regardless if it's stored above or below deck. The inside storage of SOT kayaks are not 100% dry storage.

I too am very interested. But I guess on FS12T, there's not much room to walk around in.
I'm inching my way closer to getting a F128T. I posted up a WTB ad on the classifieds, but no responses.
Since I fish with artificials 99% of the time, I prefer standing up when casting.
I like the fact I can stand around and turn without having to readjust the anchor trolley.

Wish the weight capacity was a little higher on these. I'm 6'3" 240 and that would only leave me 100lbs roughly of extra wiggle room (probably less since everone always states the weight ratings are off a little)

Grapevine received a shipment this morning. They will be on the floor starting today. I will update when Garland receives theirs.
Stay tuned for pics.
This really is a pretty nice platform.
