I will be in Galveston later this week and would like to know how significant are tides relative to fishing success this time of year.. probably wading

Tide movement is always important in places it makes a difference. Channels, guts, points and reefs will be productive during tide movement. Places like back lakes aren't affected by tides as much so it's not as important.

I always time my fishing trips to Galveston with tide predictions. I always make sure they align with sunrise or sunset, make sure 2 sets of rising(H) and falling(L) tides, look for largest difference between high and low in feet not inches, fish shallow on the rise(H) and deep on the fall(L)

All of the above is good info... there are also many things that affect tides this time of year..
