Moving down to the Temple/Belton area and was wondering about the yak possibilities. Looks like the Leon coming out of Belton is nice. Outside of Lake Belton and Stillhouse, what other areas are there for good yakking/fishing? Thanks!

Dave

Chris Payne is from Temple I think. He'll be along shortly to provide you all the info you need.

Tons of options in this area. The nice thing about Lake Belton is it's an impounded snaking river so you get lots of places to hide from the wind. It's a corp of engineers lake so a pass is helpful but not necessary. The Leon up on the north side of the lake is muddy and full of cats. After the first big turn it gets very clear. This is also a great place to catch small mouths almost year round. Still house is another story all together. Within an hour you have some great fisheries including the Colorado chain of lakes in Austin. Feel free to give me a ring. 512-517-3936. Chris.
