Left the house yesterday when sun came out and ice chunks started falling all around. Headed for the north end of Palestine.

Checked the bridges for any signs of life with water temps 42. Nothing, no crappie, no bait, headed up the creek at Kickapoo. Air temps on the rise, hit my go to area and find temps to 47. Nothing. Paddle and fish all the way to hw 31 bridge. Nothing. Do some exploring as I've never been this far up the creek and acres and acres of new fishing water. Retrace my route back when I finally get bit.

My coldest water bass to date (43 degrees) and only bite.

Not even the cormorant pattern was working.

Don't know much about how fast water temps rise but will pass on cold water lakes this weekend. Don't believe the lakes will get to where my comfort zone is much less the fish's.
