Any pointers on catching largemouth in this cold season (in tanks known for big fish)

Im having the same problem right now also. They are more active the sunny days Ive noticed. The only two decent fished Ive hooked where on clear sunny days with little wind. It sure has been windy. Ive caught a fair amount on the fly this winter. None of big size though. When do they usually spawn in south texas?

I'm a little late to this topic, but when it's cold I fish large plastics (tubes, worms, and craws mainly) very very VERY slowly. They're just like us when it's cold, looking for maximum gain for minimal effort. It's agonizing reeling in a bait that slowly sometimes, but you'll get more hits. Good luck!

Cold water - with big bass in it, that won't bite anything .... I've had much much success using "Huddleston Swimbaits" and the big ones don't be afraid to use that 8inch trout if there is big bass in that tank slow roll that Swimbait, on the bottom or close to the bottom, -
The baits ain't that expensive - 7-30$ I think the 8inch is a little more but they catch fish "BIG FISH" go look up a guy on YouTube "butch brown" he's from SoCal as well my self as well.... And we been using swim baits in clear lake that's where the swim bait was. Invented, clear lake don't get as warm as the lakes in SoCal cause clear lake is more up north in ca and when it's cold out the swim bait just works plain abd simple I brought the big swim bait technique here to texas and have had major success in ponds where I couldn't even catch bass in summer let alone colder water -
Give it a try, soft big body swim baits
Huddleston, makes a great one , castaic makes a killer trout works #beastmode status
You will need a big rod softer tip and a good Swimbait reel I always use a Calcutta 200
The skeet resse Swimbait rod ain't bad for 100$ or so works well pair it up with a hi ratio reel abd you will catch BIG BASS
