 Minn Kota Fortrex 101 Temperature sensor not working-Help

The temperature sensor on my Minn-kota works and then doesn't work. It did not work when I bought it new. Found a blow fuse. Replaced the fuse and it worked for almost a year. The other day I went to the lake and it was not working. NO blown fuse this time. I have it direct wired into my Lowrance HDS7 with the adapter plug. I had to perform a hard reset on my HDS7 the previous time on the lake because it had locked up. Is there a specific Transducer setting or something in the setup that could be proventing this from working.
