I saw something very interesting on Bastrop yesterday. I see that people post snap shots of their screen images on here all of the time. I know that some people just take pictures of their unit while others are just images from a unit. How is this done?

Thank you!

You need a blank SD card in the unit card reader.
You turn on the Snapshot feature in the Accessories tab in the unit menu.
To take a screen snaphot, you push the Mark button.
The snaphots are picture files that are .png format and are saved to a Snaphot folder on the memory card.
You can remove the SD card from the unit, put it in your computer memory card reader and open the drive, and then open the Snapshot folder to view the pictures. Most computers come with a picture viewer software.

You can also view the snapshots on the unit in the Snapshot and Recording view.

Addionally when you save a snaphot, the unit makes a waypoint, and a location file. A thumbnail photo will be displayed on the Chart View when the map curser or position icon is at that waypoint. You will get that as long as the snapshots are on the memory card and the card is in the unit.

Thank you very much! I have spotted something that kind looks like a boat. The weird thing is that it's only in about 8 feet of water. Hmmm.....

Use a short SI range setting when you scan it and get a DI view of it too.
