Thinking of heading down for the day and was looking for opinions. I have a Yak or can fish from shore. I am somewhat a newb so just looking for a heads up on current conditions etc. Also wouldnt be opposed to meeting up with someone if they were interested in hitting the water in the Yak etc.

Thanks!

Just ran all over the bay from Aransas Pass to St. Joe Island on Saturday. The only fish I caught in 9 hours were in cuts right along the Aransas Channel off Hwy 361. If I were in a kayak, I would put in along there and either go out in to South Bay, work the cuts along the Lighthouse trails or the other side of the highway up the sailboat channel and into Brown and Root Flats.

There were a lot of boats in South Bay and they have been out there regularly for a couple of weeks. I stopped by briefly, but left because the duck hunters airboats were annoying the [censored] out of me. That was on Saturday. May not be as busy during the week.

Tide is low now due to north winds today, so be prepared for that.

Sunshine will be a welcome change form all the foggy misty rain we've had the past week.

Keeper trout are out and about.

Managed one keeper red and a handful of small trout. Fished Saint Charles, Aransas and a few other spots. Great day to be out but the outgoing and low tide with fresh high pressure made it tough.
